This one-night only benefit performance of 'Busker Alley' features a star-studded cast including Tony-winners Jim Dale and Glenn Close. With music and lyrics by Richard and Robert Sherman (Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) and a book by A J Carothers, Busker Alley is directed by multi-Tony Award-winning theatre/film designer and director Tony Walton.Busker Alley is about a busker who falls in love with a much younger woman who longs to be a big star in the theatre and leaves him to follow her dreams. It is based on the 1938 British motion feature film, St. Martin's Lane, which starred Charles Laughton, Vivien Leigh and Rex Harrison.
