Written by Julian Slade and Dorothy Reynolds and the follow-up to their own hit Salad Days, Follow That Girl was originally set in Bristol where the play was staged at the Bristol Old Vic. Its success locally soon prompted plans to being the show to the West End and it duly opened on 17th March 1960 at the Vaudeville Theatre, going on to run for 211 performances.
