Grease is one of the classic musicals that the majority of the public associates with the movie incarnation although there are plenty of stage versions that are just as well done if not better. The stage musical often has different songs than the movie adaptation and different plot twists. Grease opened originally in 1972 starring Carole Demas and Barry Bostwick (of Rocky Horror Picture Show fame). Sandy Dumbrowski (or Sandra D.) and Danny Zuko have a summer romance however when they run into each other at school they find they are socially incompatible. She attempts to change herself to suit him he changes himself to suit her but finally her alteration works and everybody's happy. Grease has famous songs like "Greased Lightnin '" "It's Raining on Prom Night" and "We Go Together" -- although the most famous songs from the movie ("Summer Nights" and "You're the One that I Want") were written specifically for the screen version. A resurrected version of the show surfaced in 1993 in London with all the favorites from the stage show and a couple from the screen as well. This recording was released in 1994 and is a joyous event.
