Oh What A Lovely War - Original Singers from 1914-1918

This album was originally issued in the late 60's by the World Record Club label around the sametime as the film, see second image for album cover!br /br /Originally a West End stage production (opening in 1963) and later a successful film (in 1969), Oh What A Lovely War was inspired by the book The Donkeys. A smash hit when it opened, it brought back into favour many of the songs of the First World War era, songs that have continued to be popular music hall songs long after the war. With the show slated to return to the theatre where it was first staged (the Theatre Royal Stratford East) before transferring to the West End, and with the impending centenary of the First World war, these songs are sure to enjoy yet another revival of interest.br /br /Tracklisting:br /br /1.
