As a singer you do't have any visible instruments to play on,it is just you up there totally alone and exposed.Consequently the mind can play tricks and cause anxiety,hence butterflies in the stomach and tightness in the throat etc...That why it is si important to be well prepared and know you have done enought to be confident of what is going to come out of your mouth ! Your voice is made up of muscles just like any other part of your body. These exercises are a basic warm-up to get your singing voice awake and ready to go!
