Based on Richard Bissell book. Bissell known for his book t71/2t which was used for The Pajama Game decided to write a book about the writers who might have written the show about the show. What resulted proved to be a hilarious unforgettable musical comedy. It never meant to be a conventional musical despite all the trappings-a brassy leading lady a megalomaniac composer a saturnine director a sophomoric producer a growling press agent but all of this made great theatre./span
